Dr. Shane McTighe is a Major in the United States Army and a board-certified dermatologist with a distinguished career in both military and medical service. He graduated with honors from Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. After medical school, Dr. McTighe served as a flight surgeon for three years, deploying to Afghanistan and Europe in support of NATO operations. He has also contributed to military intelligence missions in South America. Following his flight surgeon role, he completed his Dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Dr. McTighe is currently the dermatologist at Fort Moore, where he provides comprehensive dermatologic care to service members and their families. He specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with expertise in dermatologic surgery and complex reconstructions for skin cancer. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and delivered numerous lectures, reflecting his dedication to advancing dermatologic care and education.
Board-Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. McTighe is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. His practice is grounded in compassion, excellence, and integrity, reflecting his strong Christian faith.
Dr. McTighe and his wife, Kristin, enjoy spending time with their four children, focusing on family, faith, and fostering animals. They are actively involved in their church and community, striving to live out their values through service and stewardship.
